Cool Off With Homemade Banana Ice Cream

Do you have an ice cream maker at home? If yes, don’t get it out; if no, don’t fret! You can make your own banana ice cream with only one ingredient today. How so and what is this magic one ingredient? Well, it better be banana…right? RIGHT!

Slice Your Banana's Like So

Place in Blender or Processor
I think bananas are the best dessert choice right from nature. Bananas are soothing to the stomach and mind, and a pleasure to eat. Depending on how ripe your bananas are will determine the outcome of your “ice cream.” To make this simple, satisfying, and healthy treat, you need to remove several bananas from their peel and place in the freezer for several hours so they….well…freeze.
They will be crumbly at first, just keep going.

If you like sweet, and I assume you do otherwise you wouldn’t be interested in making ice cream, wait until the bananas have brown spots over their peels and no green is left. If you can’t wait for the spots, put bananas in a paper bag to speed the process; or make it a two-ingredient ice cream by adding some stevia or honey for sweetness.
Scoop down the sides as needed.

Viola!! Creamy and Delicious!
Being someone who always begs the question, “what else can be added for more flavor”, I find adding a scoop of vanilla or chocolate whey protein, a tablespoon of peanut butter, or 1/4 cup of peanut flour to the mix makes a healthy protein ice cream. For a creamier ice cream, add skim milk one tablespoon at a time.Try your own mix; you might be surprised by the outcome.
Good can always be Great!

For those that need it, here are step-by-step instructions:

• Peel your bananas first – ideally they will be covered in brown spots.
• Cut them into small pieces.
• Freeze for about 1-2 hours on a plate.
• Blend in a food processor or blender; stop and scrape down the bowl a few times to make sure you get everything.
• Empty contents into a bowl and enjoy alone or with a good cookie, brownie, toasted nuts, or a crunchy cereal like Grape Nuts!

Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream....no maker required!
Hope you get to make this sweet treat soon, you’ll be glad you did. Now, I’m cutting this post short…I’ve got a cool treat to make and enjoy!
Good Eats!
